Hearing worsened after illness

I am 37 years old, I was implanted in adulthood. I was born hearing in the city of Leninabad in the Tajik SSR. At the age of 2.5, my eyesight and hearing began to deteriorate after my illness. My parents took me for a long time to Moscow and St. Petersburg for surveys, consultations on training and operations. I spoke with a distortion: only short phrases and words.

At the age of 4.5 I was sent to a kindergarten for hearing impaired people in the city of Tashkent. And I stopped talking at all. In 1997 our family moved to live in Moscow, since I had nowhere to study. At the age of 17, I went to school #65, where an experimental class for deafblind people was opened. I learned to speak again and master the school curriculum. Then there was a vocational school, training in an evening school, working at a VOS enterprise, studying in a technical school.

Cochlear implantation in adulthood

In 2011, I was made a cochlear implantation. My life has changed dramatically - I wanted to learn to dance.

Now I'm dancing in the Center for Sociocultural Animation "Spiritualization". In 2015 and 2016 I participated in the International Charity Dance Festival of Inclusive Dance. In 2016 I performed at the dance festival in Bratislava. In April 2017 I went to Vienna for a dance festival. And in May of the same year I participated in the festival of Inclusive Dance in Siberia - the inter-regional stage of the V International Charitable Dance Festival of Inclusive Dance. I am the soloist of the production of "Insight" in WIRT theater (Workshop Integrated Rehabilitation Theater) , participated in the International Festival in Baku "The Oriental Tale".

Now I'm dancing, writing pictures and studying at a theater school. I have many friends, I am satisfied with life!

I also finished several courses in drawing and photoshop at Bauman Institute and now I write pictures that are exhibited for close people. I work in the creative workshop of the TOK for deafblind people, where I paint ceramic ware. Now I'm studying at the Inclusive Theater School "Co-Unity". I have many friends, I am satisfied with life, I want to learn how to play a percussion instrument.
