Sensorineural hearing loss
Nikita was born prematurely, an eight-month. For 20 days he was on the apparatus of artificial ventilation, he was saved by antibiotics. Antibiotics acted on the auditory nerve, which led to sensorineural hearing loss of the 4th degree. The diagnosis was made when the child was 3 years old (September 2011). The news of the deafness of the child was a shock to us.
Cochlear implantation and a new life
Three months after the diagnosis, Nikita was made a cochlear implantation on the right ear in St. Petersburg, a year later - on the left, the child had a chance to learn to hear and listen to the world around him.
A new life has begun for us! It consisted of classes with Nikita at any free moment, books on speech therapy, albums and notebooks for the development of logic, thinking, memory, speech. We talked constantly at home, on the street, watching TV and playing, many times repeating the same words and actions.
Now Nikita has many friends, he is very kind and sympathetic boy, but he won't let anyone hurt him. And he speaks so much! Yes, the speach is not so clean yet, we continue to work with speech therapists, but now we spend a free time differently: for music, sports, English, outdoor games and at home with friends.
Music lessons
For the development of phonemic hearing and speech, Nikita began to study music - he played the piano from the age of six. Not always Nikita is quick and correct to play on the notes. Music is a very hard work. The result of his efforts is Nikita's participation in two music festivals in 2016: in Poland and St.Petersburg.
In July 2016, Nikita participated in the Second International Festival for Children, Youth and Adults with Hearing Impairments of the "Snail Rhythms" (Warsaw), out of 150 people who applied to participate in the festival, Nikita was in 10-ke, who performed at the gala- concert, while Nikita became the only finalist from Russia. He played the music of V. Shainsky "The Song of the Crocodile Genes".
In September 2016 Nikita was invited to perform at the gala concert of the festival "Magic Symphony", which was held in the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg. Nikita sang the "Sunshine Circle" on the piano, and the children's musical "Rainbow" and Marina Landa (composer, TV presenter, journalist) performed the song.

Our Nikita likes to be in the spotlight, not afraid to perform on stage, he wants to be the first in everything!
Nikita goes to the coach for adaptive physical education: checkers and chess, tennis, darts. In November 2016, went to the district competitions, wh ere Nikita took the second place in drafts between children and teenagers aged 6-16. At local competitions among children with HIA for checkers, swimming and darts took 1 seat. Nikita goes to a group of sports swimming and volleyball. He really likes moving games.
Our child has been painted all day. Thanks to a cochlear implant, he began to hear, talk, play a musical instrument, recite poems, and play sports in groups with healthy children.
Nikita grows up and began to ask questions: "Why other children do not make as much as I do? When would I hear without the apparatus? ". Such questions tear the heart, but we answer, we give examples of successful people and set it up for a great future.
Implantation united our family
I want my child to reach the peaks in sports and music, freely could communicate in foreign languages, but this requires a lot and work hard. For 5 years we have been proving to everyone that our child will be more successful than many, after all the efforts he simply has to be on top. In any case, we dream about it, and it's good when there are dreams! The most important thing is to remember that everything is possible, if you really want to!
