Children with cochlear implants become stars of the scene
Several times over the past four years, the hearing impaired children became winners of international music festivals. And the number of participants with limited health opportunities is constantly growing.
Most participants in international music festivals are children with cochlear implants from MED-EL Elektromedizinische Geraete GmbH (the world's leading manufacturer of auditory implants). And it's not surprising! MED-EL has developed and implemented technologies that allow not only to understand the speech, but also to perceive music. Everywhere - in Russia and abroad - children with hearing impairments, in the process of rehabilitation after surgery, developing their ability to speak and hear, often begin to practice vocal, music, dancing and recite poems.

The Petersburg experience of organizing the international music festival "The Magic Symphony" is now being studied in Kazakhstan, and it is possible that soon there will also be talented children. Babies born deaf, hard of hearing or who lost hearing due to illness, gave the opportunity to sing, dance, play musical instruments cochlear implantation.
According to observations of experts in the field of auditory rehabilitation, this almost always helps kids with CI improve hearing, speaking, learning to communicate and understanding interlocutors.
However, small talents need and very important public demonstration of their creative success and recognition. Musical festivals for children without hearing, patiently overcoming all the difficulties of learning, are needed as much as for their hearing peers.

International music festivals for children with hearing impairments:
For the first time the chance to enter the stage for gifted boys and girls with hearing impairments was introduced in 2013 at the Third International Piano Festival for special people in Vienna. This is not accidental, given that it was in Austria in 1977 that the world's first multi-channel cochlear implant was invented and the first CI operation was performed.

Then the experience of organizing large-scale speeches was adopted in Poland and Belarus. In Warsaw in the summer of 2015, the First International Music Festival "Rhythms of the Snail" was held for deaf and hard of hearing children. And in June 2016 - the First Festival of children's creativity with hearing impairment "Joy to hear the world" was successfully held in Minsk.

In autumn of 2016, for the first time the same event happened in Russia - The First International Music Festival "The Magic Symphony" gathered young stars on the stage of the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella. Since then, such competitions are held in Poland and in Russia every year. The finalists perform in different genres (vocals, dance, playing a musical instrument, etc.) to show clearly: children with severe hearing impairment and even with congenital deafness can be returned to the world of sounds, and it is music that contributes to their harmonious development.

For all the final concerts - to Vienna, to Warsaw, to St. Petersburg - participants (of all ages, starting from age 4) come from different cities and countries around the world. Thus, the First International Music Festival "Magic Symphony" received applications from children from 52 cities and six countries. And on the second - from 57 cities and eight countries.
